About The Author

DENNIS W. JOHNSON

As Johnson continued his studies, he began to see how often historical narratives are shaped by tradition, assumption, or institutional loyalty. Rather than accepting long-standing timelines at face value, he chose the more challenging path: comparing texts across cultures, questioning inconsistencies, and seeking evidence in places scholars often overlook, especially in the sky. Astronomy, archaeology, and ancient literature became the tools that helped him piece together a clearer picture of the past.

Although deeply committed to research, Johnson’s life is far from academic alone. He is a husband, father, and grandfather, and credits his wife, Karen, for the steadiness and encouragement that made this work possible. Together, they have traveled to forty-four countries, exploring the world with the same curiosity that fuels his writing. He is also a devoted Arizona State University football fan, faithfully holding season tickets for more than twenty-five years, and an enthusiastic golfer who braves even the Arizona heat to stay on the course.

After decades of study, reflection, and countless hours spent tracing ancient events through stars, calendars, and forgotten texts, Johnson offers The Missing Link: Astronomy as the culmination of his life’s work. His hope is simple: that readers who share his fascination with the past will find in these pages a clearer, more connected understanding of the ancient world, and perhaps even rediscover the wonder that first drew him to history so many years ago.
